I have been using Google Chrome for about five days. Am not much a fan of Google, but I accept they give they give great products. So let’s talk about their newest product Google Chrome.

First of all, it’s free ware and open source too. Since I have read a comic made by Google Chrome team which gives detailed information about the software I know how different the software it is. Let’s leave that now. First thing every body will notice about Google Chrome is how they tried to copy Mozilla Firefox. Their tab option, and looks are took and modified in Chrome. But for me, I like this new look, cause in Chrome all un-necessary menus and other options are stripped. This enabled Google to enlarge the address bar (and everything) slightly, which I like the most. It has sleek and cool looks. It’s like viewing Firefox in the full screen mode with some more options on the menu.

I use Google as my search engine, so the best thing about Chrome is, if I have to search for something, I just need to type that and press enter, and it will be automatically searched in Google. Another thing which I really like is their history option. It’s kind of spying but Chrome lists all the sites I have ever visited even with date and time. Ya Firefox also does that, but they don’t give dates and exact times.

Enough with goods, lets talk about some “I don’t like” stuff. First of all, there’s of all there’s no compatible plugins. I really like Google toolbar which gives me shortcut buttons, page rank, cache etc… tools, which is not there in Chrome. Another thing, there are many instances when I accidently closed a tab, Firefox would give me two options,

  1. History tool in the menu
  2. Using a plugin called Sessions Manager

But here there are no options, if I take the history option in Chrome, it would not give me any “recently closed tabs” option. Another one worth mentioning is; inline dictionary. Firefox has one, although not powerful but does the job. But sadly Chrome doesn’t have an inline dictionary. I don’t how Google guys have forgot to add this feature, but it was very necessary. One more thing, incompatibility with some sites. While I was using Chrome, there were many instances where the site was not loading or doing stuff the normal. First I thought it was the problem of the site, then I tried the same link in Firefox and it worked for me fine. Oh one more thing, on my laptop there’s a finger print reader, and the module for that has not yet released, so I cant save the passwords in Chrome using my finger print which is another fall for me.

So what I am gonna do is, continue using Google Chrome but keep Firefox as a backup. Here is what I said about Google Chrome when it was just released.

Are you using Google Chrome now? If you aren’t yet, do you want to? Then here is the download link, Download Google Chrome (Offline Installer). If you are already using Google Chrome do you have something to say about Google Chrome? Please feel to share it through the comments option.
